As predicted the puddings turned out better than alright. The again, they came from a plastic bag from Netto, and no, it isn't my proudest moment. But why not use things like that? Why do we have to try so hard to make absolutely everything from scratch? There it is at the ridiculous price of 18p a bag ready to make 10 perfect Yorkshire Puddings if you add only one egg and 200ml of cold water. What more do we want? Nothing really. Everything else on my plate can be made from fresh ingredients, some even organic, but not even, everything organic? Is that even fair to regular food producers? More and more we are seeing the farm industry reduce in strength as more and more of us look forward to working high paying jobs that will allow us to buy amazingly gorgeous Louboutin's!
This afternoon, I made snack fondue, and used the leftover puddings (toasted) to scoop up the delicious melange des fromages. It wasn't the best choice, because the puddings are greasy to begin with, but they were alright. I still prefer the fondue with a fresh baked original tasting baguette.
Next time... Toad in the hole! But, I wonder if I can make vegetarian sausages.... now that's a challenge!
